Reducing Fractions: Problem 2

To reduce a simple fraction, follow the following three steps:

Problem 2: Reduce the fraction .

Answer. Rewrite the fraction with the numerator factored and the denominator factored. The fraction can be written as

The fraction has been reduced into the equivalent fraction

You can check the answer with your calculator. When you divide 14 by 18, you will get the same answer as when you divide 7 by 9.
