Zero in the Numerator of a Simple Fractions: Problem 4

Rule 2: A numerator is allowed to take on the value of zero in a fraction. Any legal fraction (denominator not equal to zero) with a numerator equal to zero has an overall value of zero.

Problem 4: Write the numerator, denominator, and division symbol for the simple fraction .

Answer. This is not a fraction; its value is undefined because the denominator has a value of zero. (see Rule 1).
